Heidi Range, Sebastien Foucan exit Dancing On Ice

Heidi Range and Sebastien Foucan have been booted off Dancing On Ice in this week's double elimination, following a skate-off which saw the bottom three having to perform a solo routine.

The Sugababes singer - who had been one of the bookies' favourites to leave - and the French athlete lost out to Olympic skiier Chemmy Allcott, who was also in the skate-off but was saved by head judge Robin Cousins.

And their departure came following a battle for survival which was filled with drama, as the trio each had to perform an identical routine which showed off a host of different skating skills.

Chemmy was first on to the ice, and made it through her performance despite slipping at one point - but disaster struck for Sebastien when he forgot the moves midway through his performance.

And despite attempting to complete the routine - and despite a sympathetic response from the judges - it all proved too much for the freerunner, who burst into tears upon leaving the rink and was comforted by skating partner Brianne Delcourt.

Heidi, meanwhile, performed last, and made it through the routine without incident - but it wasn't enough to save her from the chop.

"We don't always get the people in the skate-off that should be there," Robin said afterwards, "and it makes it a difficult decision. It was a unanimous decision tonight, we all agreed, and I am saving Chemmy."

Afterwards, a still tearful Sebastien said, "It's OK, I have to accept now. I want to say thank you to Christopher and Jayne, to the production team, the judges, the coaches. It really has been fantastic."

Heidi also admitted she was "getting emotional" and added, "I want to say thanks to Chris and Jayne, to all my lovely friends over there, to all the coaches and to Andrei Lipanov and Sylvain Longchambon as well as the judges. I've had the time of my life!"

Six other celebrities made it straight through to next week following the public vote, with favourites Jorgie Porter and Matthew Wolfenden remaining in the competition along with Chico, Jennifer Ellison, Andy Whyment and Sam Nixon.
